The closing ceremony of the 19th “Cinema Vérité” Iran International Documentary Film Festival has been held in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.
The event was held on Tuesday night at Vahdat Hall, marking the culmination of Iran's most significant documentary gatherings.
The event took place in the presence of Seyed Abbas Salehi, Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, alongside filmmakers, documentarians, critics, and cultural figures from Iran and abroad.
The ceremony concluded with the honoring of festival award recipients across various competitive sections.
Organized by the Documentary & Experimental Film Center (DEFC), the Cinema Vérité festival has positioned itself as Iran’s primary international platform for documentary cinema.
Since its inception, the festival has pursued a clear conceptual mission: to explore the fragile, contested, and often philosophical relationship between “reality” and “truth” through documentary film.
Over the years, CinemaVérité has become a launchpad for Iranian documentaries onto the international circuit, while also introducing global audiences to alternative documentary traditions less visible in mainstream Western festivals.
